Getting There

By Car: From Cockermouth, take the B5289 towards Buttermere and follow signs for Loweswater. Alternatively, from the A5086, turn off at Mockerkin. There are several small, free parking areas, including one at Maggie's Bridge, which is the best starting point for the walk through Holme Wood.

By Public Transport: Public transport to Loweswater is very limited, making it best accessed by car.
