Newby bridge

Newby bridge

A small village with a nice selection of hotels and B&B's, Newby Bridge is located at the south part of Lake Windermere, joining the River Leven. The towns name comes from the stone bridge that was built across the river in 1651. Local attractions include the Lakes Aquarium, which is 3.5 mils from the town. Regular ferries from other towns link into Newby Briedge also and is a great location to stop off and move onto Cartmel, Grange and other local areas.
