Egremont

Egremont

At the foot of Uldale Valley sits Egremont, West of the Lake District and near Dent Fall. Dating back to the pre-Norman times, this historic market town offers visitors a unique look into the past. Reminders of the past are still present, including the 12th century Norman Castle.

Galleries, museums and other local attractions such as old mines and the Site of Specific Scientific Interest Nature Reserve, pave the local streets and offer visitors plenty to do. There are plenty of cycle paths and long walks available in the area, along with local shops offering local produce. Restaurants, pubs and cafes finish off this town nicely and make Egremont a perfect springboard for viewing the coastline and nearby National Park
