Ambleside
Windermere, the largest lake in the Lake District, plays host to Ambleside on the northern side, and offers a bustling market town with plenty of attractions for visitors. Providing a perfect base to further exploring of the other regions, Ambleside is often described as the jewels in the crown of the Lake District. The village itself is full of history whilst offering plenty of local modern shops and stunning acommodation. One main attraction if Ambleside Museum, along with plenty of Roman Fort remains. Standing in the shadow of Loughrigg Fell, Ambleside also offers a perfect place for walkers and climbers, being just a short distance away. A mind boggling waterfall going by the name of Ghyll Force is also nearby and is a must see for any visitors.
