Bird lovers will enjoy the 70 species of wild birds that live near the lake itself, including Englands only breeding Ospreys. Because of the areas lack of human intervention, there are plenty of other incredible wildlife in the area worth viewing.

The actual scenery itself is also something to behold. The village stands below the impressive Skiddaw - the 4th highest mountain in England. Robin Hood, Ullock Pike, Longside Edge, Dodd Wood and Barf Fell are also nearby, providing a stunning backdrop to an area rich in natural beauty and full of walks in a breathtaking setting.
