Botanical Illustration Master Class -Billy Showell

Although botanically illustrative Billy’s style is modern in its approach and is primarily about creating an arrangement that symbolises the simplicity and beauty of the natural world. ‘Design & composition are as important to her as the true colours & shapes of subjects’. 'With vegetables featuring in many of her later paintings she also experiments with more unusual arrangements to create simple fun images that demand a closer look.'Billy Showell lives in Kent and is a botanical artist and illustrator as well as mother of two young sons. She has exhibited her work across Britain and is in constant demand for private commissions. With an eye for detail & creative compositions her pictures are both vibrant & inspiring..Discover the art of fine watercolours and transform our ‘verdant veg’ into mouthwatering compositions to display in your own home reflecting our kitchen gardens and potagers of yesteryear.‘Billy is an excellent tutor & conveys her skills expertly both with empathy and encouragement’…so said many of the local Art Club after July 2007 workshops. She will guide you through various watercolour techniques and tease the very best building from your existing levels.
